As a result, CMCC closed the analog mobile communications network on Dec. 31st on 2001 to cease the analog China mobile phone service.
When there is demand, supply comes soon. Phone manufacturers began to produce a kind of 'Dual Band Cell Phone' which could simultaneously support two networks, GSM & CDMA; later, an even more advanced phone, 2-Band 2-Sim China Mobile Phone, was developed, as a result, people can insert two SIM cards in one phone, both cards available at the same time, which means the user can make and receive calls with whichever number he/she want.
Recently, with the development of 3G, TD-CDMA appears in China, which now holds a popularity of more than 50,000 users. This is the CDMA standard developed by China. With the development of TD-CDMA, there will be a profound improvement within the pattern of China mobile phone.
